Currently, we maintain 100% interests in two gold producing mines, Kumtor mine in the Kyrgyz Republic and the Boroo mine in Mongolia.

Kumtor Operating Company is seeking experienced Heavy Duty Mechanics for its gold operation located in the Kyrgyz Republic, Central Asia. Reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent, this position will be responsible for the installation, repair and maintenance of mobile equipment and machinery at the mine site. The ability to work with, train, coach and develop national mechanics is a key component of this position.

Journeyman certification as a Heavy Duty Mechanic, and at least five years of related experience are required; experience with the maintenance of Caterpillar equipment is essential. Responsibilities will include the maintenance of a fleet of Cat and Liebherr equipment including 777B ,785C trucks, 8L, 9L and 10R dozers, 5130B shovels and other Cat equipment. Previous remote site experience will be definite asset.

This is a 12 month term contract (renewable) located at the Kumtor mine site. The work schedule will be a FIFO 4&4 week rotation. Rotational positions are based at the mine site. US Dollar salary with normal company benefits is offered.
