The position of Heap Leach General Foreman is responsible for the efficient recovery and production of gold from the recently completed 4MTPA Heap Leaching section of the Mill department.
NATURE AND SCOPE
Reporting to the Mill manager, the position is responsible for:
- Supervising a national team of 2 Senior Foremen, a Senior Metallurgist, and 12 Operators. Additional labour will also be managed as required by the project.
- Achieve production targets by efficient use of available equipment and resources to maximize gold recovery and minimize use of reagents and consumables. Ensure efficient planning and operation of heap leach crusher, carbon in column building, stacking and emitting.
- Ensure strong communication with the Mine department in regards to stacking plans and gold production plans.
- Review the procurement of equipment and supplies necessary to optimize the process and coordinate with the procurement department the efficient delivery of the supplies.
- Develop and work within budgetary and forecasting requirements.
- Develop, implement and monitor a structured training and evaluation system such that all operations personnel increase their skills and meet agreed upon performance parameters and standards.
- Implement and adhere to site and corporate safety and environmental policies and procedures, in particular with respect to the containment of solution within the Heap Leach facility.
EXPERIENCE
- 3-5 years experience in the gold processing industry
- Experience in gold or copper heap leaching is required
- Experience supervising employees, while employed in a developing country
- Demonstrated communications, training and interpersonal skills
- Metallurgical degree or technical equivalent degree or diploma preferred
- Prior expatriate experience in a developing country
- Proficient in most Microsoft software
