General Accountabilities:
Reporting to the Vice President Operations, the Process Manager will be responsible for leading and directing the Process function. Improve, maintain and sustain optimum ore processing and gold recovery consistent with company values, strategic objectives and good, long-term business practices is critical to the success of this position. The implementation of best management practices and cost control methods is an essential part of the role.
The Kumtor Mill operates at a nominal 17,000 tpd capacity and consists of crushing, grinding, flotation, cyanide leaching and gold recovery in two separate carbon-in-leach ("CIL") circuits with final gold recovery accomplished by electro winning and refining. Expertise in mineral processing, particularly in grinding and sulfide flotation techniques is essential.
Suitable candidates will be Process/Metallurgical Professionals with 10 years progressive mining processing exposure of which at least 5 years should be a in senior Mill Management assignments, preferably in two or more similar size operations. B.Sc or higher graduate qualification is definite requirement for this position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to development and enforcement of environmental and safety programs and the continuing development of training programs.
- Ensure that all duties are performed safely and in compliance with all government regulations as well as company policies.
- Identify, formulate, and expand the development of effective plans and procedures to ensure maximum operating efficiencies, including cost controls. Formulate annual operating and capital budgets and optimize those expenditures.
- Maintain proactive and open communication with corporate and senior management teams, providing accurate data on the operation, as well as insightful interpretation of that data.
- Keep abreast of state-of-the-art processing methods and equipment and make recommendations for improvements.

- Self-directed and self-motivated, demonstrating initiative to do more than is expected or required in the position with the desire and capability to progress within the organization.
- Superior operational management skills, combined with an ability to develop and execute plans by applying leadership skills not just management techniques.
- Must be adept at motivating and obtaining results, leading by example with a participatory management style. Firm but fair results orientation
- Must possess a solid work ethic, high energy level, and strong desire to do things safely and efficiently.
- A familiarity and working knowledge of Six Sigma principles will be of benefit.
- Must be willing to aggressively attack problems and assume ownership of issues and solutions facing the operation.
- Medically fit to work at +4000 meters and arctic conditions
This is a resident position, located in Bishkek, the capital of the Kyrgyz Republic though the incumbent will work and live at the mine site during the work week. A 9 day on 5 days off roster is worked by residents.
