Overview

  REN
REN is an advanced gold exploration property owned in partnership with Barrick Gold Corporation.
The REN gold exploration property is located at the northern end of the Carlin Trend in northern Nevada, about 82 kilometres northwest of Elko, Nevada in the Tuscarora Mountains. It is an advanced exploration property that is actively being explored by the REN joint venture, which is 62% owned by Centerra and 38% owned by Homestake Mining Company, a subsidiary of Barrick Gold Corporation. REN consists of 91 contiguous unpatented mining claims covering 740 hectares located on U.S. federal lands administered by the U.S. Bureau of Land Management. The property's southern boundary is 1,500 metres from Barrick's Meikle mine, which produced 5.2 million ounces of gold at a total cash cost of $137 per ounce from 1996 to the end of 2003. After 2003, production from Meikle has been reported as part of Barrick's Goldstrike Underground Mines.

If an economic gold deposit develops from the exploration at REN, there is readily available infrastructure close by to build and operate a mine. The REN deposit is close to a number of existing gold mining and milling operations and has excellent access to power and water sources. With roaster and autoclave milling complexes located within a few miles of REN, custom milling of ores is a viable processing option. A skilled mining workforce is also readily available in Elko County and other nearby areas of northern Nevada.
