British Columbia Donations and Community Project Fund

Centerra is proud to support community-based organizations local to our project sites in British Columbia. We are pleased to grant financial and in-kind contributions to organizations and/or projects either working in, or providing support for, our local communities.

We encourage applicants to carefully review the following eligibility criteria to determine whether your organization, program or project qualifies for funding from the sponsorship and donation program. Centerra has two community support programs: a sponsorship and donation program aimed at offering financial and in-kind contributions and a Community Project Fund for legacy projects that aim to achieve sustainable outcomes and that are innovating meeting a defined need within one of our local communities. If you have questions about your application or are unsure of what program to apply to please reach out to sustainabilty@centerragold.com.

Funding is designed to support our regional communities. We encourage you to ensure your project falls within the location parameters outlined below.

Community Project Fund

Projects that contribute to healthy communities and support regional sustainability by investing in people and a diverse post-mining economy may be eligible for funding through our Community Project Fund (CPF). The CPF awards grants of up to $10,000 to groups and projects that that build the capacity of local community groups and/members and are focused on one or more of the following priority areas:

  1. Education and training – provision of education opportunities, resources and leadership training, especially in health and safety, technical and scientific fields
  2. Health – improving access to health services, including in particular, service for children and the elderly
  3. Environmental – funding of environment projects focusing on air, water, biodiversity and energy conservation
  4. Community – enhancing business development, employment activities, programs to assist vulnerable groups, and a sustainable economy
  5. Literacy – improving the various aspects of literacy in the region
